Christian online community victorious over online atheist Martin S. Pribble who quits the online atheist community in utter defeat. Pribble was one of leading atheist bloggers in 2011

In the online publication Slate, the online atheist Martin S. Pribble says he is quitting the online atheist community. In his hay day, Pribble was one of the leading atheist bloggers in 2011.

Of course, Pribble quits in utter defeat while global atheism is shrinking and global Christianity continues to see rapid growth. See:  The rise of global Christianity/creationism and the decline of global atheism

In addition, Pribble's quitting is part of a protracted trend of the decline of internet atheism. See: Decline of internet atheism articles

Martin S. Pribble failed

Did you notice that Martin S. Pribble failed to:

1. Offer proof and evidence that atheism is true.

2.  Provide a plausible naturalistic explanation for the origin of life. See: Origin of life

3.  Satisfactorily answer the 15 questions for evolutionists. See: 15 questions for evolutionists

4. Offer a reason why nautical engineers indicate that Noah's ark was eminently seaworthy (the Epic of Gilgamesh ship would not have been seaworthy).  Nor did he defeat Christian explanations/defenses of the Noah's ark account. See: Noah's ark  and Noah's ark and nautical engineers/architects and Epic of Gilgamesh ship - not seaworthy

5. Offer a plausible reason why Jesus's apostles were willing to die for their Christian faith nor did he provide a naturalistic explanation for the rapid growth of early Christianity. See: Evidence for Christianity

There you have it. Martin S. Pribble runs away from Christianity vs. atheism online battlefield in utter defeat!

Jesus Wins!

Reddit shoves its atheism sub-reddit into the closet where it belongs!

Questions:

1. Did Reddit shove its atheism sub-reddit into the Reddit closet?

2. Did Reddit say its atheism sub-reddit was not "up to snuff".  Since Reddit atheism is probably the world's largest internet atheism community, does this mean that global atheism is not up to snuff?

3. Will Reddit's popularity probably increase or decrease after this move?

4. Is the decision to remove the atheism sub-reddit off its main page a good decision for Reddit. If so, why?

5.  Did the atheist  Hemant Mehta who writes the blog The Friendly Atheist say about Reddit's decision: "Honestly, it’s probably a smart move by the Reddit admins even though it hampers getting atheist stories to larger audiences (and means less traffic for me personally)."  Is this yet another sign that 2013 is going to be a BAD year for atheism?

Reddit dumped its atheism sub-reddit of its main page

Reddit will no longer have its atheism sub-reddit on its front page. It has decided to put its atheism sub-reddit in the closet where it belongs! See: Reddit's frontpage: goodbye atheism and politics

Recently,  CNN featured an article on the "6 types of atheism" but there are at least 7 types of atheism as "closet atheism" was not included. In 2007, Dr. Sam Harris, a founder of the New Atheism movement, said about the label of atheist, "It's right next to child molester as a designation."

Reddit's Alexa ranking on 7/17/2013 - the day it booted its atheism sub-reddit from its main page

The decision to remove its atheism sub-reddit from its main page seems to have been made on 7/17/2013 (See: Reddit announcement and ( r/Atheism Gets Kicked off Reddit’s Default Front Page ).

Alexa's global market reach from 7/12/2013 to the end of 7/17/2013 according to Alexa:

Reddit's Alexa global ranking from 7/12/2013 to the end of 7/17/2013:

Reddit's global market share in 2012 and 2013 according to Alexa

Reddit said its atheism sub-reddit was not up to snuff and so it was removed from its default setting

On 7/17/2013, Reddit declared in a blog post:
We know many of you will wonder what happened to /r/politics and /r/atheism and why they were removed from the default set. We could give you a canned corporate answer or a diplomatic answer that is carefully crafted for the situation. But since this is Reddit, we’re going to try things a bit differently and give you the real answer: they just weren’t up to snuff. Now, don’t get us wrong, there still ARE good parts about them. Overall, they just haven’t continued to grow and evolve like the other subreddits we’ve decided to add.
Imagine that!  The leading internet atheism community on the internet not being up to snuff!

Why did Reddit make a sound short term and long term decision?

Global atheism is on the decline in terms of adherent and internet atheism is also on the decline.  On the other hand, global Christianity is seeing rapid growth in its number of adherents. See: Decline of global atheism and rise of global Christianity and Decline of internet atheism

Recently, Mashable declared that reddit atheism had developed a reputation for "low brow" material.

See:

Mashable admits one of the internet's largest atheist communities, reddit atheism, has developed a reputation of being "low brow" over the years by "some" (translation: by people who are not "low brow")

Most of the fans of the sub-reddit atheism were upset by recent changes which attempted to make the sub-reddit less low brow. But no matter how you slice it, atheism will always be errant and illogical and any attempts to make it intellectually feasible is like putting lipstick on a pig.  Christianity has an abundant amount of evidence and atheists/evolutionists have developed a reputation of cowardice as far as publicly defending their worldview in debate.  See: Evidence for Christianity and  21st century atheism is well-known for its foolishness and cowardice

My guess is that marketing department of Reddit saw low brow Reddit atheists increasingly leave their website.  Furthermore, they may have done some split-testing to see how the decision would affect them as far as removing the atheism sub-reddit from their main page as far as a default setting.

In addition, given the decline of global atheism and internet atheism and the reputation of atheists, their move of the atheism sub-reddit off the main page of their website was a good long term decision for them. Furthermore, given rising internet use among countries that have a lot of religious conservatives and the widespread use of the English language around the world, the move makes long term sense as well.

Atheist Hermant Mehta on Reddit's decision and its implications for internet atheism. And yes, 2013 is going to still be a bad year for atheism - just like we predicted!

Hemant Mehta the atheist who writes the blog The Friendly Atheist said about Reddit's decision:
That meant popular atheism-related stories were seen by who-knows-how-many people who would never have clicked on or cared about those stories otherwise. It also meant that anyone who signed up for a free Reddit account would be automatically subscribed to r/atheism. They would have to click “unsubscribe” to not see those stories.

That default option led r/atheism to become one of the most popular subreddits on the site with more than 2,000,000 members, most of whom (I suspect) aren’t even atheists.

Today, Reddit announced that r/atheism would no longer be a default subreddit for new members and casual visitors (and neither will r/politics...

Honestly, it’s probably a smart move by the Reddit admins even though it hampers getting atheist stories to larger audiences (and means less traffic for me personally).
There you have it. Reddit's decision will probably hamper internet atheism.  Atheists, didn't we repeatedly tell you that 2013 was going to be a bad year for atheism? It's happening! Just like we predicted!

Reddit atheism and cowardice

In May of 2013, Policymic published an article on Reddit atheism entitled Reddit Users: Why Atheist Redditors Are Stuck On the Internet which declared that Reddit atheists are reluctant to proclaim their atheism off the internet. See: Reddit Users: Why Atheist Redditors Are Stuck On the Internet

The Policymic  article declared:
Are we to make cowards out of Reddit’s atheists for the discrepancy between the prevalence of real life and internet proclamations of godlessness? Maybe, as the world’s loudest atheist, Richard Dawkins, first bemoaned in his TED talk, “Atheists do not want to be impolite … Can we stop being so damned polite?” Or, as R/atheist stalwart with the username “blackstar9000” explained in a very thoughtful post on the state of the atheist subreddit, “Many of the users are just recently converted, who fear being ostracized by people the religious people who make up their support system.

The atheist community and internet atheism is still a hostile wasteland

On April 2, 2013, the American Atheists organization published on their website an open letter to the secular community which declared:
At the same time, the fact that so much of our community is online brings with it certain challenges. Communicating primarily online can make it difficult to recognize each other’s humanity. Online we don’t have the same vocal and physical cues to tell us what another person means by his or her comments, so it’s easier for misunderstandings to develop. The instantaneous and impersonal nature of online communication also makes it much easier for these misunderstandings to escalate, or for civil arguments to turn into bitter fights. Like many online communities, our comment and forum threads all too often become places for name calling and even threats, rather than honest dialogue based on mutual respect.
Jacques Rousseau wrote  in the Daily Maverick concerning Elevatorgate, "Some might observe that we indulge in these squabbles fairly frequently." An ex-atheist wrote: "As an Atheist for 40 years, I noticed that there is not just a wide variety of Atheist positions, but there exists an actual battle between certain Atheist factions."

Blair Scott served on the American Atheists board of directors. Mr. Scott formerly served as a State Director for the American Atheists organization in the state of Alabama. On December 1, 2012 he quit his post as a director of outreach for the American Atheist due to infighting within the American atheist movement.  Mr. Blair wrote: "I have spent the last week mulling over what I want to do at this point in the movement. I’m tired of the in-fighting: at every level. I am especially tired of allowing myself to get sucked into it and engaging in the very behavior that is irritating..me".

Another part of the natural world that Richard Dawkins fails to understand

The website of Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science declares:
The mission of the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science is to support scientific education, critical thinking and evidence-based understanding of the natural world in the quest to overcome religious fundamentalism, superstition, intolerance and suffering.
Well, it seems as if the internet is another part of the natural world that Richard Dawkins does not understand as this website is suffering a lack of web traffic as Compete.com shows a mere 693 visitors a month for the month of 9/2012. And Alexa ranks it merely among the top 2,412,080 websites in the world. This Question Evolution! blog ranks among the top 1,147,278 websites of the world.

If only Richard Dawkins understood the internet and computer science as well as the humble Christian members of this blog then perhaps he could vanquish this creationist blog! And if Richard Dawkins understood the social sciences better maybe he could understand human behavior better and this might help too. This is another case of an evolutionists having a hard time understanding the sciences! Come on Richard! It is time for you to put on your critical thinking cap and defeat religious fundamentalism once and for all!

Web traffic of  Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science according to Compete.com

In addition, the main website of Richarddawkins has lost a significant amount of web traffic as can be seen by the web traffic tracking company Quantcast which directly measures the web traffic of this domain (click graph below for details):

Another humbling defeat for Richard Dawkins on the internet, computer science and social sciences front!

On the other hand, Creation Ministries International has a firmer grasp on the internet which is a part of the natural world as can be seen below (click graph for details):

In addition, the atheists/agnostics are losing on the superstition front as well.

In September of 2008, the Wall Street Journal reported:
The reality is that the New Atheist campaign, by discouraging religion, won't create a new group of intelligent, skeptical, enlightened beings. Far from it: It might actually encourage new levels of mass superstition. And that's not a conclusion to take on faith -- it's what the empirical data tell us.
"What Americans Really Believe," a comprehensive new study released by Baylor University yesterday, shows that traditional Christian religion greatly decreases belief in everything from the efficacy of palm readers to the usefulness of astrology. It also shows that the irreligious and the members of more liberal Protestant denominations, far from being resistant to superstition, tend to be much more likely to believe in the paranormal and in pseudoscience than evangelical Christians...

This is not a new finding. In his 1983 book "The Whys of a Philosophical Scrivener," skeptic and science writer Martin Gardner cited the decline of traditional religious belief among the better educated as one of the causes for an increase in pseudoscience, cults and superstition. He referenced a 1980 study published in the magazine Skeptical Inquirer that showed irreligious college students to be by far the most likely to embrace paranormal beliefs, while born-again Christian college students were the least likely.

Screechy monkeys

In 2010, Mariano Grinbank's Christian apologetics website True Free Thinker  wrote concerning Scienceblogs.com:
Scienceblogger Chad Orzel described the commentators on PZ Myers ' Scienceblogs.com site Pharyngula, and other Scienceblogs.com commentators, as "screechy monkeys.
In 2008, Mariano wrote:
Prof. PZ Myers' website "Pharyngula" is part of the "Scienceblogs" network. While the premise of Scienceblogs is to give professors access to the masses and the masses access to the professors with regards to science it has morphed into something quite different, as Scienceblogger Matthew C. Nisbet stated it in referring to:
"…the major perceptual hit that the scienceblogs.com community and brand continues to take because of PZ's antics. The Seed sponsored blog portal is supposed to be a place that attracts new audiences to science, but in fact, it has turned into the Web's leading echo chamber of anti-religious rants and sophomoric discussions of atheism, what the physicist Chad Orzel refers to as the 'screechy monkey' problem. In a recent interview on the podcast Point of Inquiry, host DJ Grothe asked PZ if he worried that scienceblogs.com was becoming better known as 'atheistblogs.com.' It's a question that merits serious consideration, especially in light of recent events."

Freethoughtblogs.com: World's biggest atheist blogging community seeing a big decline? Are atheist women or atheist men to blame?

Questions:

1. The firm Quantcast is a leading web traffic tracking company which directly measures the web traffic of Freethoughtblogs.  Has Freethoughtblogs, the world's largest atheist blogging community in the English language, lost significant monthly web traffic since January 1, 2012 according to Quantcast?  Yes it has!

2. Has Freethoughtblogs.com lost significant web traffic in the last 3 months according to Quantcast?

3. Is Freethoughtblogs suffering from the fallout of a a toxic brew of atheist rape threats vs. feminism? Is atheism filled with contention and sour individuals?

4. Does the battle of the sexes within the atheist community have long term implications in terms of the future size of the atheist population?

Freethoughtblogs web traffic graph

According to the web traffic tracking company Quantcast which indicates it directly measures their web traffic this occurred:

Time period                                                           Unique monthly visitors

January of 2012                                                       490,270

September 9, 2012- October 8, 2012                         332,281

Atheism: A house divided against itself

Feminists vs. male atheist rape threat downplayers

Has the feminists vs. male atheist rape threat downplayers fight soured a lot of people on Freethoughtblogs.com? Are many male atheists jealous of Christian men with sweet Christian wives and girlfriends? Of course, they are! Are many atheist women jealous of Christian women and their loving husbands and boyfriends? Of course, they are!  And for good reason!

Below are some select quotes and videos related to the divided house of atheism:

Post  Elevatorgate scandal, at an atheist convention, Rebecca Watson claimed:
Hundreds of atheists have informed me that either they wanted to rape me, someone should rape me so that I will loosen up or that no one would ever rape me because I am so ugly".
Watson also declared: "It get regular rape threats. I get regular rape and murder threats".

On July 1, 2012, the atheist Ed Brayton wrote:
As many of you are no doubt aware, there’s been a lot of strife in this community lately. Some of it has been in public, some of it was in private and some of it may well go from being private to public as a result of all of this. So let me give you the news and clear the air: We are parting company with two of our bloggers: Thunderf00t and Greg Laden. We wish them both the best but, unfortunately, their behavior towards other members of the community has made it impossible to keep them as part of our network. This is not a matter of a disagreement or difference of opinion, but of behavior that we cannot condone or support.

None of this is a reflection on the worth of the many contributions that both of these people have made to the atheist cause. I hope and am confident that they will both continue to offer a lot of good things to this community.

On July 1, 2012 Rebecca Watson wrote post Elevatorgate controversy:
Skepchick has been exposed for what it is: a totalitarian Nazi clique who created an anti-harassment policy specifically so that men could harass women in bars and Muslim could force us to wear burqas. I know it’s true because noted atheist intellectuals Paula Kirby and Thunderf00t said so! I debated whether or not to write about this because the recent insults about Skepchick have been so self-evidently ignorant and wrong that I felt it would look like we were picking on tiny, angry babies. And no one likes to see that. I’m relenting only because the sheer amount and absurdity of the insults have reached a level that cannot be ignored, like a large mob of angry babies brandishing pacifiers and blankies as weapons.

Bible believers are seeing big results on the internet while contentious and childish atheists squabble

While YouTube most popular evolutionist Thunderf00t largely preaches to the atheist choir and gets embroiled in a bitter dispute concerning getting booted off of Freethoughtblogs, online Christian evangelism efforts by Bible believers are beginning to achieve massive results. See: Christian internet evangelism

Millions of people are reporting becoming Christians after going to Christian internet evangelism websites while atheism internet evangelism performs poorly and leading atheism websites Atheist websites are losing significant web traffic.

I love Thunderf00t's new video FreeThoughtBlogs and PZ Myers which sternly begins with his finger in the air: "This is your one warning!".

Do you hear me PZ Myers? I have drawn a line in the atheism sand! Step over it at your peril!

Worst possible time for atheist house to be divided

A divided house of atheism couldn't have come at a worse possible time for atheism and evolutionism as our Question Evolution! Campaign  group is launching a very strong effort to promote the campaign and its 15 questions for evolutionists at the end of 2012 in order to have very strong and sustainable momentum to make 2013 the WORST year in the history of Darwinism. In addition,  Question Evolution! educational materials are soon coming out.

Is this widespread atheist contention going to end soon?

Consider this:

Jacques Rousseau wrote in the Daily Maverick: "Elevatorgate..has resulted in three weeks of infighting in the secular community. Some might observe that we indulge in these squabbles fairly frequently." An ex-atheist wrote: "As an Atheist for 40 years, I noticed that there is not just a wide variety of Atheist positions, but there exists an actual battle between certain Atheist factions."

So who is to blame as far as the atheist battle of the sexes? Both atheist men and women are a contentious lot.

The Apostle Paul wrote:
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galations 5: 19-23)
Future atheist population

Is a battle of the sexes affecting the size of the atheist population? Will atheists be fruitful and multiply or are they literally a dying breed?

Consider this information:

1. Atheism and marriage and divorce: Atheism, marriage and divorce

2. Future atheist population: Future of atheism

John Loftus's blog is losing its global market share according to Alexa. Is he another atheist destined for total obscurity?

Is John Loftus another atheist failure destined to leave no legacy like the atheists Paul Kurtz, Farrell Till  and other atheists? Recently, we demonstrated that global atheism is shrinking and that leading atheist websites were losing their global market share and/or web traffic in recent years. See: Decline of global atheism

Let's see what the web traffic tracking company Alexa has to say about John Loftus's influence on the world.

John Loftus's blog is losing global market share according to the web traffic tracking company Alexa:

Important questions

1. Is internet atheism shrinking in influence? See: Decline of internet atheism

2. Is global atheism shrinking and is it expected to shrink at an accelerated rate? See: Resources on the rise of global Christianity and creationism and the decline of global atheism and agnosticism

3. Is the global shrinking of atheism expected to affect Western atheism in a significant manner in terms of adherents? See: Atheism will shrink at an accelerated rate

4. Will the shrinking of atheism make the obscure atheist John Lotus and other obscure even more obscure?

5. Does John Lotus have a master plan to stop the rapid expansion of global Christianity and creationism and the global shrinking of atheism and agnosticism? See: Evolutionists, atheists and agnostics: What is your master plan to reverse your decline?

6. Can John Loftus satisfactorily answer the 15 questions for evolutionists?

7. What proof and evidence does John Loftus have that atheism is true? The reason I ask is that biblical Christianity has an abundance of proof and evidence: Evidence for Christianity: websites, articles and videos

Paul Kurtz, the father of secular humanism, is another atheist failure without a legacy

Is Paul Kurtz another atheist failure without a legacy?

I previously did an article on the atheist failure Farrell Till who is headed for leaving no legacy. In addition, I showed that Richard Dawkins and other major atheist and/or evolutionist websites have lost significant traffic in recent years.

I would encourage to read these articles at:

Decline of internet atheism

Paul Kurtz - another atheist failure personified

Paul Kurtz, who is "the father of secular humanism", appears to be destined for obscurity as well.

Dr. Paul Kurtz appears to have been forced to resign from an main organization  that he founded which was the Center for Inquiry.  Dr. Kurtz described this humiliating event as a "shattering blow" in a Buffalo News article entitled Redirecting a long life of godlessness.  The infighting among the organization appeared to be a power struggle between the New Atheist (militant atheist) and the non-New Atheist factions of his organization.

On October 10, 2010, a contentious exchange between members of the Secular Humanism faction of atheism founded by Paul Kurtz and the atheist Ron Lindsay was caught on tape.Video - Part one and Video - Part 2

During the exchange Ron Lindsay said that infighting has been occurring within the Secular Humanism faction of atheism for years. A Paul Kurtz supporter said that Kurtz was censored by Ron Lindsay and his supporters and driven out of the organization that he founded (Center for Inquiry). On the other hand, Lindsay claimed that Kurtz voluntarily resigned from the organization he founded and Kurtz was never censored. Furthermore, Lindsay said that Kurtz's idea of a "planetary federation" was impractical. Kurtz countered that he was never allowed to publish why he resigned from the organization and that he was censored by the organization that he founded.

Evolutionist at EvC Forum admits his debate forum is a ghost town! Try banning fewer creationists when they win debate after debate! We challenge Percy to a debate!

An evolutionist at EvC Forum admits his website is a ghost town!

Here is a quote  from the evolutionist Percy who is part of the forum's "leadership" and I use the term leadership loosely given the tremendous loss of web traffic to his forum:
Gee, nice to be mentioned, even if only in an obituary!

His graph seems accurate, seems to track the decline in messages posted. It would be interesting to see a graph that went all the back to 2001.

Any guesses as to the creationist he quotes who says he was banned? Sounds like ForEverYoung, except that he's not suspended anymore.

--Percy

Percy, want more web visitors at your website forum? Stop banning creationists when they easily and effortlessly win debate after debate!

And we know that believers in biblical creation easily win debates with evolutionists.  Around the 1970s, prominent evolutionists lost hundreds of debates at colleges, universities and other public places.  As a result, they are now like timid little bunnies who are afraid to publicly debate.

Percy, are you confident that evolutionary belief can withstand cross-examination in a live debate? Are you willing to debate in an environment where you cannot ban creationists? We can even agree to a series of live oral debates lest you complain you didn't enough time to make your case.

We challenge Percy and his fellow EvC Forum evolutionists to a live public oral debate on the internet

Percy, are you willing to have a team debate centered around the 15 questions for evolutionists via a live recorded oral debate which would be distributed to tens of thousands of people?

If you are confident, please make the necessary arrangements via this free chat room: http://login.meetcheap.com/conference,89538844 You can make the necessary arrangements with the chat room moderators Shockofgod or VivaYehshua.

Alternatively, you can reach Shockofgod via his YouTube email account.

If you want to know more about the debate, any and all questions should be directed to Shockofgod or VivaYehshua.

Please don't make excuses as we know you and your fellow EvC Forum evolutionists have a lot of time on your hands and the graphs below help demonstrate this.

Pro-evolution Wikipedia has a shrinking base of editors plus Quora is Wikipedia's worst nightmare

Wikipedia in terms of web traffic is among the top promoters of evolutionary belief and pro-atheism ideology. The website was founded by the atheist Jimmy Wales and the agnostic Larry Sanger. In the last two weeks, there were articles indicating that Wikipedia has a shrinking base of editors and that a serious challenger to their website has arisen.

Since Wikipedia ranks #1 at Google for so many search queries, this is another indication that atheism and evolutionism are losing influence on the internet outreach front (see: Internet atheism: The thrill is gone).

Below are two recent articles on Wikipedia:

Atheism and evolutionism on the internet: The thrill is gone!

Richard Dawkins website and other evolution/atheism websites have lost significant traffic in the last 5 years. On the other hand, you can see by the resources that I provided above that biblical Christianity is rapidly expanding on the internet and there are ambitious plans for its future expansion.  Like I demonstrated before, when it comes to promoting atheism and evolutionism on the internet - the thrill is gone!
