Will future historians see May through August of 2011 as being a major turning point in the Christianity vs. atheism/Darwinism culture war

Questions:

1. Will future historians see the May through August period of 2011 as being a as on of the major turning points in the Christianity vs. atheism/evolutionism culture war? If so, why?

2. Does external pressure often spark communities and people to make unforced  errors so their plight becomes worse? In other words, a downward and reinforcing cycle of loss of confidence and infighting?

3. Is atheism/agnosticsm suffering from a downward cycle of loss of confidence and infighting?

4. Are believers in biblical Christianity and biblical creation seeing experiencing a reinforcing cycle of growing confidence and enthusiasm and growth in their world communities?

5. In May/June of 2011, were there signs that a worldwide grassroots movements were forming or gaining in momentum  in both the areas of Christian apologetics (defense of Christianity)  and the defense of biblical creation?

5 reasons why future historians may see the period of May through August of 2011 as being one of the major turning points in the atheism vs. Christianity culture war

Many times societal, economic and ideological collapses play themselves out over a series of decades, years or months and it is not singular events which causes a collapse. For example, the fall of the Soviet Union was definitely a setback for atheism and the secular left. Also, the current current economic crisis in secular Europe is likely to adversely affect atheism, agnosticism and evolutionism.

The financial writer Michael Snyder wrote in June of 2012:
Many people hype “the coming economic collapse" as if it is some kind of big summer Hollywood blockbuster.  Many people out there write about it as if it is something that will happen in a single day or over a few weeks and that it will suddenly change how the entire world functions.  But that is not how the financial world works.  The financial world is like a game of chess – very slow and methodical.  Yes, there are times when things happen very quickly (like back in 2008), but even that crisis played out over a number of months.  Sadly, most Americans are not used to thinking in terms of months or years.  These days, most Americans have the attention span of a goldfish and most Americans have been trained to expect instant gratification.  They are simply not accustomed to being patient and to wait for things.  Well, despite what you may have read, the economic collapse is not going to be a single event.  It is going to play out over quite a few years.

It is often said that the victors often write history.

There is an abundance of evidence that in the Christianity vs. atheism/agnosticism/evolutionism culture and spiritual war that there are going to be some influential Christians writing about the conflict between Christianity vs. atheism. Biblical Christianity is seeing a global resurgence which will affect the Western World.  See: Atheism/Darwinism vs.biblical Christianity/creationism

The secular academic Eric Kaufmann using a multitude of demographic studies argues in an academic paper entitled Shall the Righteous Inherit the Earth? Demography and Politics in the Twenty-First Century that the decline of atheism in terms of its global adherents is an established trend that will persist for the foreseeable future and the rate of decline will accelerate. See: Why are the years 2012 and 2020 key years for Christian creationist and pro-lifers

5 signs that Christianity will prevail in the current Christianity vs. atheism/evolutionism culture war:

1. On May 14, 2011, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph published a news story entitled Richard Dawkins accused of cowardice for refusing to debate existence of God.

In a letter to fellow evolutionist Richard Dawkins which was subsequently quoted by The Daily Telegraph, Oxford University atheist Dr. Daniel Came wrote concerning Dawkins' refusal to debate the Christian apologist Dr. William Lane Craig: "The absence of a debate with the foremost apologist for Christian theism is a glaring omission on your CV and is of course apt to be interpreted as cowardice on your part."

On August 19, 2011, Fox News reported  in a news article entitled Christian Philosopher William Lane Craig Is Ready to Debate, but Finds Few Challengers:
American Evangelical theologian William Lane Craig is ready to debate the rationality of faith during his U.K tour this fall, but it appears that some atheist philosophers are running shy of the challenge. This month president of the British Humanist Association, Polly Toynbee, pulled out of an agreed debate at London’s Westminster Central Hall in October, saying she “hadn’t realized the nature of Mr. Lane Craig’s debating style.”

Willam Lane Craig, who is a professor of philosophy at Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, Calif., and author of 30 books and hundreds of scholarly articles, is no stranger to the art of debate and has taken on some of the great orators, such as famous atheists Christopher Hitchens and Sam Harris. Harris once described Craig as “the one Christian apologist who has put the fear of God into many of my fellow atheists”.

Responding to Toynbee’s cancellation, Lane Craig commented: "These folks (atheists) can be very brave when they are alone at the podium and there's no one there to challenge them. But one of the great things about these debates is that, it allows both sides to be heard on a level playing field, and for the students in the audience to make up their own minds about where they think the truth lies."
2. In June of 2011, Creation Ministries International launched the worldwide grassroots Question Evolution! Campaign.A supporter of the Question Evolution! wrote of the campaign:
Michael B., United States, 8 October 2011

This is a grand movement and I’m glad it has begun. Our youth are indoctrinated very early to believe every word spoken about evolution without questioning. Creation Science has so much to offer and new discoveries are being made almost every day in this exciting new field of science...
The Question Evolution! Campaign features 15 questions that evolutionists  cannot effectively answer.  As you can see by the video below, the atheist/evolutionist community has been unable to effectively respond to the Question Evolution! Campaign.

3. On July 2, 2011, an abrasive Richard Dawkins made inappropriate remarks to the atheist woman Rebecca Watson and the incident has since been dubbed Elevatorgate.  No doubt being very publicly labeled a coward and having a worldwide grassroots anti-evolution campaign launched by a leading biblical creation organization contributed to the already abrasive Richard Dawkins being a very grumpy and irritable old man.

The New Statesman reporter and fellow skeptic David Allen Green said he believed Richard Dawkins was a sexist. In addition, Green wrote: "Can Richard Dawkins still credibly pose as a champion of rational thinking and an evidence-based approach? In my opinion, he certainly cannot, at least not in the way he did before."

In the aftermath of Elevatorgate, Mindy an skeptic blogger at Rebecca Watson's website Skepchick wrote concerning  Richard Dawkins: "“I look forward to watching your legacy crash and burn,” and “you don’t get a second chance.”

Jacques Rousseau wrote in the Daily Maverick: "Elevatorgate..has resulted in three weeks of infighting in the secular community. Some might observe that we indulge in these squabbles fairly frequently." An ex-atheist wrote : "As an Atheist for 40 years, I noticed that there is not just a wide variety of Atheist positions, but there exists an actual battle between certain Atheist factions."

Richard Dawkins may have had a chip on his shoulder as well post the William Lane Craig debate challenge and charges of cowardice.  His abrasive remarks to Rebecca Watson could have been Dawkins trying to be a "big man on the atheist campus".  Well, if this is the case, Dawkins's remarks didn't work out so well, did they?

The Elevatorgate has caused the factious atheist community to be even more fractured in a significant way with various factions of atheism criticizing or supporting Richard Dawkins's remarks after the Elevatorgate incident.

4. In her book Confidence: How Winning Streaks and Losing Streaks Begin and End, the  Harvard University Business School professor Rosabeth Moss Kanter writes about how success often breeds success and how failure often breeds more failure. And make no mistake, atheism and evolutionism are intellectually failing and they are failing to developing a winning culture as a community as well.

Specifically, atheism/agnosticism/evolution community appears to be have been affected by this very public atheist/agnostic loss of nerve and cowardice and the resulting fallout of Elevatorgate.

Although Richard Dawkins is a flip flopper when it comes to the atheism and agnosticism issue, in May/June he was still seen as the standard bearer of atheism/agnosticism. See: Is Richard Dawkins a flp-flopper

Below are two web traffic graphs of Richard Dawkins's website in terms of global market share according to the leading website web traffic tracking firm Alexa:

The leftist/atheist/evolutionist PZ Myers and other atheists/evolutionist have attempted to unify and energize the atheist community post Elevatorgate by launching an atheist/agnostic blogging community but that effort has largely failed and the various atheist factions are still squabbling post Elevatorgate.

Lack of leadership within the atheism and evolutionist communities

Crisis and problems can either bring out the best in a community or have a community descend into denialism, bitterness and infighting.

It is clear from the articles below which path the atheist, agnostic and evolutionist communities have chosen to confront the explosive growth of biblical Christianity and biblical creation belief.

5.  Below are signs that biblical Christianity and biblical creationism is growing and energized

Biblical Christianity and creationism is growing and energized

While atheism has been publicly humbled and in a state of confusion and factionism, Bible believers and believers in biblical creation are energized and biblical Christianity is growing explosively as can be seen in the data and articles below:

Intellectual defense of Christianity movement  growing

Ratio Christi is a global movement that equips university students and faculty to give historical, philosophical, and scientific reasons for following Jesus Christ.

In May of 2011, the Christian apologetics organization Stand to Reason wrote:

Ratio Christi, a fairly new apologetics organization that is seeking to change the intellectual atmosphere at universities by bringing Christianity into public, academic discussion. Their goal is to start on-campus apologetics clubs at 500 universities in the next five years. This is where you come in--because it’s also Ratio Christi’s goal to connect each of these clubs with a person who has been trained in apologetics (but who probably has a different day job) to act as chapter director. Ratio Christi helps each chapter organize one or two campus-wide events a year by connecting them with speakers and debaters like William Lane Craig and Gary Habermas, helping them find the funding, etc. But after the event has come and gone, the lay apologist is still there to lead discussions and interact with the Christians, skeptics, atheists, and seekers who may never have realized that Christianity has a weighty intellectual tradition behind it.

Creation Ministries International which historical been involved in general Christian apologetics in addition to main focus of biblical creation apologetics has decided to promote general Christian apologetics more via a book entitled Christianity for Skeptics  which was co-authored by Dr. Steve Kumar and Dr. Jonathon Sarfati

No doubt this will better enable Creation Ministries International and their fans  to network more easily with Christian apologetic organizations and other Christians.  Checkmate atheists and evolutionists! See: 4 pillar of defeating Darwinism
