Georgetown University study provides two clues to shrinking atheism faster

The Christian Post just published an article titled Study: Atheists Have Lowest 'Retention Rate' Compared to Religious Groups and the article gives two key clues to putting atheism through the meat grinder and speeding up its global decline.

The Christian Post article provides this key information:
Only about 30 percent of those who grow up in an atheist household remain atheists as adults. This "retention rate" was the lowest among the 20 separate categories in the study.

"What these findings reflect is that in the U.S. atheists are for the most part 'made' as adults after being raised in another faith. It appears to be much more challenging to raise one's child as an atheist and have them maintain this identity in their life," Dr. Mark Gray wrote at CARA's blog....

Baptists had the highest retention rate of the Protestant Christian categories at 60 percent, followed by Lutheran (59 percent) and Pentecostal (50 percent).
In addition, according to recent research by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, in the United States, a majority of those surveyed who were raised in atheist/agnostic households, or where there was no specific religious attachment, later chose to join a religious faith (see: Defectors to faith mark a growing trend and Faith in Flux Changes in Religious Affiliation in the U.S.).

Also, in atheistic communist China, Christianity is is experiencing
explosive growth (see also: Christianity is exploding in China). Plus, Christianity is on the upswing in atheistic Japan - especially among the youth (see: Christianity on the upswing in Japan).

Two key ways to speed up the global decline of atheism

1. Since atheism has a low retention rate among people raised atheists, one of the best methods of speeding up the global decline of atheism is though evolutionism and atheism inoculation. In other words, let Christians and the general public know about the many problems of atheism and evolutionary ideology and the many problems they cause BEFORE they consider becoming atheists (Atheism and suicide, atheism and its history of mass murder, etc. See: Atheism). In most cases, once they find out this information, atheism will seem so foolish and loathsome to them that they will not even consider becoming atheists.

Atheism, agnosticism and evolutionism do not stand up under critical examination that is why Richard Dawkins, the British Humanist Association and leading evolutionists have recently ducked notable debate offers. They know their weak ideologies cannot withstand cross-examination.

A. Key information when it comes to evolutionism and atheism inoculation:

B. Key methods of inoculating people against evolutionism and atheism:

There is a high correlation between countries which accept evolution and countries which are more atheistic. We believe it is because evolutionism is an ideological catalyst to adopting the specious worldview of atheism. Evolutionism is a very naturalistic ideology that spawns philosophical naturalism. Cutting off the air supply of atheism through reducing evolutionary belief is a key strategy in causing the acceleration of global decline of atheism.

2. Theologically conservative Protestant groups are growing in the world while theological liberal Protestant groups are shrinking. Evolutionary belief is far less accepted in conservative congregations. So it is not surprising that Baptists have a high retention rate among their adherents compared to many liberal protestant denominations as the Christian Post reported. Similar retention rates are probably found among many other conservative sectors of protestantism.

In 2006, Alan Beeber of Campus Crusade For Christ International (CCCI) predicted that internet evangelism will result in more conversions that all other forms of evangelism for CCCI combined.

Christian internet atheism is currently like a runaway train that keeps gaining more and more speed.

Consider:

In June of 2011, the internet evangelism organization Global Media Outreach reported:
Worldwide:

• Shared the Gospel with more than 145 million people

• Saw 19,287,789 indicate that they prayed in faith to receive Jesus Christ

• With 2,550,732 requesting follow-up from one of our 7,588 trained volunteer online missionaries

• 4,507,155 discipleship visits

• All 195 countries

Typically, around 15% of all visitors indicate they prayed in faith to receive Jesus. Of those approximately 1 in 5 request follow up. GMO believes that if only 5% of all indicated decisions were a reflection of true faith, the results would still be an overwhelming harvest for the Kingdom. All follow up measures taken by GMO to establish a reliable index of faith and growth among our responders have proven very encouraging as this report outlines in detail

Getting more Bible believers involved in internet evangelism and discipling these new believers will accelerate the global decline of atheism. Part of disclipling new believers is giving them some of the abundant proof and evidence indicating that biblical Christianity is true.

Currently, internet atheism by atheists is failing and global atheism is expected to decline at an accelerated rate. See: Internet atheism: The Thrill is gone! and Global decline of atheism - key tipping points

While YouTube most popular evolutionist Thunderf00t largely preaches to the atheist choir and gets embroiled in a bitter dispute concerning getting booted off of Freethoughtblogs, online Christian evangelism efforts are beginning to achieve massive results. Millions of people are reporting becoming Christians after going to Christian internet evangelism websites while atheism internet evangelism performs poorly and leading atheism websites see losses of traffic.

Explosive ways to reduce evolutionism and atheism

Some of the members of our group have suggested some explosive ways to improve the Question evolution! campaign reduce atheism in the world. God is able to inspire some great ideas - especially if you put your mind to it and ask God for inspiration.

We are really excited about them and they seem to have a very good reception among the people we talked to. They will really speed up the dissemination of the campaign and create a lasting impression upon people when they are exposed to the campaign.

In upcoming posts we will be making announcements about these matters.

It's time to do some heavy demolition of the house of cards called atheism!

Get involved in the Question Evolution! Campaign and help spread its 15 questions for evolutionists and tell others about it too.

Let's do some heavy duty demolition of the house of cards called atheism.

  1. Your moronic rhetoric disgusts me. Although I guess I should be thanking you for making it appallingly obvious how lunatic beliefs like this are.
Also, I challenge the entire foundation of this and other related articles on the basis of personal experience. While I know and know of countless numbers of people who have "converted" from religion to atheism, never in my whole life of Christianity did I actually meet a single person who'd gone the opposite direction. Obviously there are the few that you put on a pedestal (Lee Stroebel, etc.), but those cases are anecdotal and rare.

  2. Your profile says you are in law enforcement or security. The law needs proof and evidence to convict someone which you must know. So where is your proof and evidence that Georgetown University did sloppy research or fraudulent research in terms of their study? Where is your proof and evidence via an opposing study? All you have offered is an anecdotal unconfirmed report which you have offered no proof and evidence for. Of course, this is not at all impressive. Plus, to make matters worse you did it in a vitriolic way which reduces your credibility. Would you offer such "evidence" and criticism in a court of law using the words such as moronic and lunatic? In court of law, vitriolic people are removed from the court by a bailiff. We do publish thoughtful comments of the opposition. With that being said, if you do not step up your game considerably in terms of its substance and decorum, your subsequent comments will not be published (That is why your thoughtless comment employing the F word was not published but I did publish your other comment with a warning to step up your game considerably).

  3. Notice to readers:

The post has been updated in terms of information indicating people raised atheists have a low retention rate in terms of holding on to that worldview. Specifically, I added a corroborating study from Pew Forum. I also added additional information relating to China/Japan.

  5. James,

Providing historical evidence can you show me a worldview responsible for more mass murder than atheism? See: atheism

Vox Day: " “Apparently it was just an amazing coincidence that every Communist of historical note publicly declared his atheism … .there have been twenty-eight countries in world history that can be confirmed to have been ruled by regimes with avowed atheists at the helm … These twenty-eight historical regimes have been ruled by eighty-nine atheists, of whom more than half have engaged in democidal162 acts of the sort committed by Stalin and Mao … .163

“The total body count for the ninety years between 1917 and 2007 is approximately 148 million dead at the bloody hands of fifty-two atheists, three times more than all the human beings killed by war, civil war, and individual crime in the entire twentieth century combined.164 "

  6. Nazism and Communism were/are religious systems.

  7. The Crusades, the Thirty Years' War, the Spanish Inquisition, the slaughter of Native Americans by Christians, September 11th, Jonestown, Darfur, Palestine and Israel, Pakistan and India, Sikh progroms, Ethiopian-Adal war, Nigeria, the Buddhist Uprising in 1966, the Lebanese civil war...all religiously motivated.

    1. Brian,

      Three things:

      1. Give me the total for those events and compare it with the totals for atheist atrocities given above

      2. Not convinced re: Native Americans comment. Was that a religious conflict or an ethnic conflict?

      3. We are still going forward with accelerating the decline of the false religion of atheism

    2. Brian,

If you need help with the numbers, here is a source which gives some of the figures: http://www.str.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=5527

    3. 809 million people have died in religious wars

By comparison, 209 million have died in the name of Communism. Some 62 million died during World War II, civilian and military, on all sides. Conclusively, more people have died in the name of religion than in the name of Communism or Hitler, or the two combined times two.

    4. Quy,

Depending on an atheist/lefist for honesty and careful scholarship is like depending on a lame leg.

I don't trust your figures - especially since you give no sources.

For example, Dr. R. J. Rummel coined the term democide which is death by government. Dr. R. J. Rummel's mid estimate regarding the loss of life due to communism is that it caused the death of approximately 148,286,000 people between 1917 and 1987. See: http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/NOTE1.HTM

I do realize given the secretive and deceptive nature of atheist communist that coming up with a figure is challenging.

    5. It doesn't matter if theism is more responsible for mass murder than atheism or vice versa. The fact of the matter is that both have lead to mass murder. The pot calling the kettle black; point one finger and you have four pointing right back at you; "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

It all comes down to the value of the morals being taught. Atheism does not preclude a moral education. There are more ways to learn right and wrong besides books of divine revelation.

    6. It mattered to the tens of millions of more people killed by atheist ideology. It matters to their family. The reason it doesn't matter to you is that you are a sinful and hardhearted atheist.
