Imagine a YouTube chock-full of Shockofgod like channels. It's coming and it will be glorious!

It is rumored that the popular Christian YouTube channel Shockofgod is hosted by a Hispanic Bible believing Christian who lives in the United States.

Atheists, after reading this article The writing is on the wall: Godless progressivism will not be dominant in America's future, I want you to imagine a YouTube chock-full of Shockofgod like Christian channels!  It's coming and it will be glorious!   Yes, my atheist friends, atheism is going from a squeak in the United States to just a half a squeak!

My challenge to evolutionists and atheists

Godless progressivism will not be dominant in the USA's future

Godless progressives, abandon all hope that godless progressivism will be dominant in the United States.

Consider this excerpt about the new dominance of Spanish television in the USA:
Univision? More like Uno-vision.

This summer, there's a new No. 1 among television viewers aged 18 to 49: For the fourth week in a row, the Spanish-language network Univision has won the primetime ratings contest for this coveted demographic, as well as the 18 to 34 cohort. It's Univision's first top finish in a sweeps month; the network previously beat NBC to come in fourth in the critical February sweeps period...

Indeed, at a time when ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox are mostly airing repeats -- though "the Big Four have increased their original output this summer," notes Variety's Rick Kissell -- Univision's all-new lineup is a more attractive proposition for many viewers.

Evangelicals and proselytizing

Evangelicalism has traditionally held to the authority of the Bible and thus biblical creationism as well.

Given the historic immigration from Latin America to the U.S, consider this report about evangelicals, proselytizing and Latin America:
Evangelicals, including Pentecostals, neo-Pentecostals, and other non-mainline Protestant denominations, such as Baptists, are the fastest growing world religion by conversion. Evangelicals hold shared convictions such as the inerrancy of the Bible, proselytizing the Gospel, the divinity of Christ and personal salvation through Him. In 1960, Evangelicals numbered 89 million (2.9% of world population).  By 2010 they were 546 million (7.9%) with an annual growth rate at 2.6%.  In Latin America the growth of evangelicals has been dramatic since the early 20th century.  In 1900 evangelicals numbered about 700,000 or 1% of the population. By 2010, they reached 91 million or 16.8% of the population. Latin American countries with the highest concentration of evangelicals are Brazil, Chile, and Guatemala. Evangelicals account for about 20% or more of the population in El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. Of all evangelical subgroups, Pentecostals are the largest component with over 66 million adherents of which Brazil has the largest concentration.

Hispanic evangelicalism past and projected growth in America

Time Magazine reported in May of 2013:
According to Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life while “more than two-thirds of the 52 million-plus Latinos in the U.S. are Catholic, that number could be cut in half by 2030.” NHCLC also establishes that 35 percent of Hispanics in America now call themselves “born-again.”
Fox News reported in May 2013 concerning Hispanic evangelicalism in the United States:
Alfredo De Jesus is a fire-and-brimstone preacher who represents a global groundswell of Hispanics who've left the Catholic Church to become Protestant Evangelical Christians.

De Jesus pastors the New Life Church in Chicago, helping to expand it from 120 members in 2000 to over 17,000 today on multiple campuses.

"In the Evangelical church, we find freedom to worship, and with Hispanics, it's in us to be able to love people. Naturally, we just love people. We are hugging people," De Jesus said.

Latinos make up the largest ethnic minority in the United States — 52 million, according to latest Census stats. The majority — two-thirds — are still traditionally Roman Catholic. But there's been a palpable shift from one generation to the next, with the newer ones being "born again."

Evangelicals now number about 20 percent of the Latino population, according to the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference.
A question for atheists: Notice what Pastor DeJesus said about Hispanics and hugging. When you think of atheists/atheism, what are the first words you think of? Angry? Militant? Nerds?  Snobby elitists? Mr. Atheist, none of these words are associated with hugging! Say adios to your dream of the United States being dominated by secular progressivism.

According to a video posted at Huffington Post featuring an interview with female atheists, storefront churches provide assistance to local residents including women and this partly explains the very low rate of Hispanic and African-American women atheists in America.

And atheists give less to charity than Christians so don't expect the proliferation of atheist soup kitchens in America providing assistance to Hispanic households:

  2. Stossel, John and Kendall, Kristina Who Gives and Who Doesn't? ABC News, November 28, 2006
Other factors related to the growth of Hispanic evangelicalism in the United States

Currently, the USA's border on Mexico has been tightened due to a soft economy, the drug trade and terrorism and net immigration to the United States has slowed from Latin America (see: Growth prospects of the USA ).  Yet, as far as the Hispanics who already live in the United States, they traditionally have had higher birth rates than the general population although this has been dampened due to the weak American economy as of late (see: Birth rates in the United States ).   Furthermore, atheists/agnostics/Darwinists/liberals have low birth rates compared to evangelicals (see: Secular vs. evangelical birth rates)

If the economy gets better, then immigration may increase. If the economy stays poor or gets worse in the foreseeable future, then this would also be bad for atheism in the United States because atheism/agnosticism does poorly in bad economies (see:  Economics and Darwinism/atheism ).   So either way, atheism/agnosticism loses in the USA as far as the foreseeable future.

The state of the American evangelical church and its future. Is its future bright or gloomy?

American internet evangelists are having great success spreading the gospel into foreign lands and having some success in America as well. And biblical Christianity and biblical creationism are having great success spreading their messages via indigenous people in those lands. See: Global creationism  and Interent evangelism is a powerful tool in evangelism

In addition, a 2012 Gallup poll indicated that creationism is growing in the United States. See:  2012 Gallup poll on prevalence of biblical creation belief

But what is the state of the American evangelical church? What is its future?

Is the future of the American evangelical church bright or gloomy? Two well-researched views

Below are two variant well researched predictions via articles and videos.

    1.  The Great Evangelical Recession by John S. Dickerson

The Great Evangelical Recession and 6 ways to improve things

Review of the Great Evangelical Recession with the 6 factors listed plus commentary

    2. Professor Eric Kaufmann's researched view.  Kaufmann is agnostic that teaches at the Birbeck College, University of London, UK.

The academic paper entitled Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth? Demography and Politics in the Twenty-First Century argues that the decline of atheism in terms of its global adherents is an established trend that will persist for the foreseeable future and the rate of decline will accelerate and affect the Western World.

    See:

Why are the years 2012 and 2020 key years for Christian creationists and pro-lifers?

Secularism is exhausted and lacks confidence

Religious immigrants highly resistant to secularization will dramatically alter the religious landscape

Which view will prevail? Is there truth to both views? Will the American evangelicalism adapt to new conditions and prosper?

I think there is some truth to both views, namely the views of Eric Kaufmann and  John S. Dickerson.

My guess is the even though the American church holds 4/5 of Christendom's wealth that a day of reckoning is coming to the American church due to the 16 trillion dollars of federal government debt and the heavy debt loads of state/local governments. American prosperity is not sustainable under the current economic model.

A severe economic downturn could humble the American church and focus the church on getting back to the basics of the gospel and have more reliance on the wisdom of Scripture. Right now, the American church is similar to the Corinthian church in Paul's day. In addition, perhaps more internet evangelism will be focused on the United States.

What does American and world history teach us about an American church and great economic adversity? Let's take a look.

Will American biblical creation churches do well in economic hard times?

During the Great Depression in America churches which emphasized holiness grew and so did pentecostal Christianity (I realize there can be considerable overlap as many pentecostal church also emphasize holiness).

Both of these types of protestantism tend to support creationism. In Latin America, where many people are of modest means, evangelical Christianity is growing very fast. But it is also doing well in Brazil which is an upcoming country in terms of economic performance.

Biblical creation belief grows in economic hard times plus can do well in prosperous countries.

Does atheism thrive on economic prosperity? Does religion prosper when people are desperate and ignorant?

The rich Swiss and Americans are a slap in the face to Darwinists. Yodele he who! God bless America!

The rich swiss continue to slap evolutionists across the face. Ouch! That must hurt!

Evolution indoctrinating public schools in America will face budget cuts and university indoctrination could decline as well.  More vouchers, private religious schools and charter schools

    Evolutionists, start thinking the unthinkable

Pop goes the higher education Darwinism indoctrination

Since evolutionary propagation occurs mostly in schools, this could have a devastating effect on Darwinism.

How adaptable are American evangelicals and Americans?

Pride causes people to be less adaptable. Wealth often breeds pride. Yet, Americans are an optimistic people and there are many people with a strong work ethic. In addition, there is the "Yankee ingenuity/adaptability" issue. And America has bounced back from adversity in the past. In Russia, although there was a revival in spiritual things after the collapse of the Soviet Union, I am guessing that many men chose the vodka solution and tried to drink themselves into oblivion.

    Consider this:
One of the most compelling arguments Dalos advances for the implosion of the Soviet Union is the role played by alcohol. Between 1936 and 1970, alcohol production rose by 157%. By 1975, it increased by 214%, and by 1976 it reached 327%. The state alcohol monopoly may have been pulling in 20 billion rubles yearly during the 1970s, and 40 billion in the 1980s, but the cost to the economy of lowered production due to alcohol-related causes, not least sickness, was far, far higher.
My guess is that Americans are more optimistic and less fatalistic and a renewal of America is possible.

But this will not be enough to for the American church to prosper under very hard economic conditions. It will require the grace of God and reliance on God.  Revivals have occurred in American history and it could certainly happen again.  Time will tell.
