During the Christmas season there are many joyous young earth creationists and many depressed atheists.
In December of 2003, the University of Warwick reported:
Dr. Stephen Joseph, from the University of Warwick, said: "Religious people seem to have a greater purpose in life, which is why they are happier. Looking at the research evidence, it seems that those who celebrate the Christian meaning of Christmas are on the whole likely to be happier. There are no joyous songs related to Darwinism or atheism, just lessor and inferior works.
In 1894, the New York Times declared:
Dr. Martin urged that a great cause of suicide was atheism. It was, he said, a remarkable fact that where atheism prevailed most, there suicides were most numerous. In Paris, a recent census showed one suicide to every 2,700 of the population. After the publication of Paine's "Age of Reason" suicides increased. In 2004, an abstract for an American Journal of Psychiatry journal article reported:
Religiously unaffiliated subjects had significantly more lifetime suicide attempts and more first-degree relatives who committed suicide than subjects who endorsed a religious affiliation. Unaffiliated subjects were younger, less often married, less often had children, and had less contact with family members. Furthermore, subjects with no religious affiliation perceived fewer reasons for living, particularly fewer moral objections to suicide. In terms of clinical characteristics, religiously unaffiliated subjects had more lifetime impulsivity, aggression, and past substance use disorder. No differences in the level of subjective and objective depression, hopelessness, or stressful life events were found. The historical record demonstrates that Darwinism and atheism inspire misery and no joy and don't let any deceitful Darwinists convince you otherwise:

ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget to add a quote from the new york times more than a century old!
Merry Christmas folks, you made me smile!
Saifuddin Merchant,
DeleteAre you familiar with the appeal to novelty logical fallacy? See: http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/appeal-to-novelty.html
If you could be more logical in your subsequent comments, I would be indebted to you.
Next, there must be a reason why you didn't put forth information which contradicts the information that was provided? What is it? Cat got your tongue? If you could provide proof and evidence in your subsequent comments as far as your evolutionists complaints, it would be appreciated.
By the way, I am going to have a joyous Christmas with my family! We are going to eat scrumptuous food. And one things I can guarantee you there will be no transitional form of animal meat or plants that will be eaten! Why are the (expected) countless millions of transitional fossils missing? See: http://creation.com/15-questions
Merry Christmas!
Uh...so? Even if I were to grant your premise that religious people are happier than atheists, so what? Drunk people are happier than sober people but no sensible person would use this to argue in favor of perpetual intoxication. Just because something makes you happy does NOT mean that it is true, nor that it is good for you.
ReplyDeleteOlen Whitaker,
DeleteYou are being illogical and practicing the fallacy of exclusion. See: http://onegoodmove.org/fallacy/exclus.htm
In the "Other resources" section, I offered two resources which refute evolution soundly. Plus, in the same section I offered sound evidence for Christianity and a resource showing the folly of atheism/agnosticism.
Olen, are you willing to have a debate centered around the 15 questions for evolutionists (see: http://creation.com/15-questions )
via a recorded oral debate which would be distributed to tens of thousands of people.
If you are confident in your evolutionary beliefs, please make the necessary arrangements via this free chat room: http://login.meetcheap.com/conference,89538844 You can make the necessary arrangements with the chat room moderators Shockofgod or VivaYehshua. Alternatively, you can email Shockofgod via his YouTube email at http://www.youtube.com/user/shockofgod
If you want to know more about the debate, any and all questions should be directed to Shockofgod or VivaYehshua
There will be no future communication with you via this blog until you accept this debate offer and carry through with the debate.
does "happy oung earth creationists" simply = blessed ignorant?
ReplyDeleteGene,
DeleteIf this is the case, you certainly brought forth no evidence to show this. Why is that?
